A rigid 24" bike for junior riders aged 9-12, with a lightweight low-step rigid frame and fork for longer rides over varied terrain.
The hi-tensile steel frame is durable, and the rigid fork suits children who haven't used suspension, with a curved lower section to reduce vibration from pavements. Gearing has 6 rear speeds (Shimano rear derailleur with Revoshift shifter) and 3 front chainrings for steep hills and fast descents. A chainwheel guard protects fingers and clothing and helps keep the chain on.
MTB-style pedals, soft compound grips, and front and rear V-brakes with reach-adjustable levers for smaller hands. A longer 250mm seat post, fore/aft saddle adjustment and a height-adjustable quill stem let the bike grow with the rider. Alloy rims and all-surface tyres are designed for mixed terrain.
