The Comete Road Disc carbon wheel is designed for speed, thanks to a unique combination of aerodynamics, lightness, and rolling efficiency. Mavic engineers conducted numerous iterations, comparisons, and validations, including wind tunnel tests in Geneva, to optimise every element of the profile. The result: a rear wheel that is truly faster, responsive to every acceleration and stable at high speeds.
Its conception around a 23mm Aero Wide Rim optimised for 28mm tyres offers the best aero/rolling efficiency ratio backed by wind tunnel sessions, Mavic Lab tests and their pro athletes' approval. Comete Road Disc rolls on Mavic Ceramic bearings; the reduced friction improves rolling efficiency and for ultimate smoothness and speed towards the finish line.

Specific Mavic Adaptive Layup
With a carbon weave optimised for the ideal balance of stiffness, weight and vibration absorption. As soon as the wind picks up, from around 10 km/h at a 10 to 20 degree incidence, the rim profile comes into its own and saves between 5 and 10 watts. Every fibre orientation has been tuned to meet the aerodynamic and mechanical demands of road racing.

Full Carbon Reactivity you can feel
Mavic's specific Adaptive Layup structure, combining different fibres (T700, T1000, 3K), offers an ideal balance between stiffness and dynamic behaviour. The aero-shaped, lightweight carbon flanges enable the transfer of every watt without loss while guiding airflow perfectly to easily maintain high speeds from start to finish.
Mavic Ceramic bearings with ultimate control
Each component is validated on in-house machines capable of 57 different tests before a second round confirms the performance of the fully assembled wheel. Every detail of the hub has been redesigned for marginal gains: 40-tooth ratchets, optimised freewheeling spring, Mavic ceramic bearings, a more aerodynamic hub shell, lighter hub bodies and Locked-In Spoke Heads to stabilise spoke tension over time.
